The third pole of the earth, the Himalaya, covers parts of India, Nepal and China. Due to climate change effects, the glaciers are melting and there have been less snow in these mountains. It has created threat to the island countries.
Considering its effects in future, a workshop is being organized from 1-6 in Bangkok, Thailand. IFAD and IDRC are jointly funding the workshop. Participants from the different countries are requesting for more support from IFAD to cope up with the emerging problem in the world.
We would like to get more ideas and feed back from ealsewhere on this emerging issue. A journalist from IFAD is interviewing to a participant from Canada.
